Abstract
The research project aims to investigate the design of the book composed of predominantly visual narratives, highlighting its relationship with the structural and sensorial characteristics of this support. The studies cover the concept of object-book, picture-book, illustrated book – names given to books whose narratives explore the use of graphic images (drawing, engraving, etc.), photographic and/or digital, together with the three-dimensionality of the support; in addition to contemporary manifestations in independent publications, investigations into illustration, drawing, engraving and experimental typography (in analog or digital formats).
